Adding Value to Spain, December 2022
Inspired by Mohanji and his activities, active volunteers of the global Mohanji Foundation, Monika Nedic and Mina Obradovic traveled to 6 cities in Spain (Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Cádiz, Malaga, Sevilla, and Barcelona) from Nov 24th to Dec 12th, and conducted activities as a part of the drive “Adding value to Spain”. Food donations to the hungry under the banner “ACT 4 Hunger” and programs for personal development across 6 cities were supported by our respected volunteers, as well as individuals new to our platforms who decided to support us. We cordially thank all of them for their time and contribution.

Our donation of 110+ kg of food and a few packets of hygiene products at the “La Casa de Acogida San Juan Pablo II” in Alcalá de Henares, Community of Madrid, who take care of 25 homeless people every day, cooking meals for them and providing them place to sleep and take a bath.

The visit to the parish “Parroquia Virgen De Belén”, in Alcalá de Henares. They help more than 150 families in need, who are living in very poor conditions. They are in constant need of food supplies, since the demand is growing each day. We donated 190+ kg of food to them to support their benevolent cause.

We donated around 150 kg of food and hygiene products (shampoos, soaps, shower gels, wipes…) to the Food Bank of Alcalá de Henares. The Food Bank Foundation is an institution with 27 years of experience based on volunteering whose purpose is to raise awareness in the society and promote solidarity to alleviate the lack of resources to have a dignified life.
We donated around 150 kg of food and hygiene products (shampoos, soaps, shower gels, wipes…) to the Food Bank of Alcalá de Henares. The Food Bank Foundation is an institution with 27 years of experience based on volunteering whose purpose is to raise awareness in the society and promote solidarity to alleviate the lack of resources to have a dignified life.

Our donation of around 300 kg of food to the public canteen “Virgen Poderosa” in the capital of Cádiz. They are offering their services (dining room, wardrobe, food support) to the homeless and/or at risk of social exclusion, and helping families with dependent minors.

We visited the public canteen “Yo soy tú”. They support those in need with food, clothing and footwear. In December 2022, they reached their maximum of 2,000 beneficiaries who attended daily and are in constant need of supplies. We donated more than 310 kg of vegan food.

We donated more than 250 kg of vegan food to the Food Bank of Seville, whose fundamental objective is to fight against hunger and food waste. The Seville Food Bank Foundation manages the collection, storage, conservation, and distribution of food with the aim of making it reach the associated organizations and, through them, the people who need them. In addition, currently, it is committed to the training and inclusion in the labor market of people in vulnerable situations.

Our donation of 250 kg of food for adults and infants, to the Association Amics Del Gorg-Mar in Badalona, Barcelona. The aim of this association is to distribute the food they receive to the most needy families in the city. Every 15 days, they have a responsibility towards 600 families. Their mission and values are the fight against hunger (help alleviate poverty and social exclusion, distributing food supplies) and against food waste.
