Disaster Relief

Under the Disaster Relief initiative, Mohanji International Foundation is supporting people affected by the devastating impact of the earthquake in Turkey, Syria and Iran. Over 8,000 people have died and hundreds of thousands of people have been made homeless. Through our volunteers on the ground we sent food, clothing, tents and blankets. The first earthquake impacted Iran as well. The suffering of the affected people has been made worse by the bitterly cold conditions – thousands of people have been outdoors in freezing cold.

As most people have been rescued from the rubble, the next most urgent requirements were food, clothing, medicine, tents, blankets and heaters. Mohanji International Foundation in cooperation with ACT Foundation sent immediate support through our volunteers on the ground, and other volunteers who traveled to Turkey to help distribute aid. Any support means a lot.

We hope not to see any natural disasters in the near future, but should the need arise, MIF will organise and provide help under the Disaster Relief initiative, as per the capacity at the time.
