ACT 4 Ukraine 2023

Over the course of the year, ACT 4 Ukraine delivered more than 32 tons of food, including staples like rice, pulses, salt, tea, sugar, and tinned food. These supplies were distributed during two major missions, ensuring that basic needs were met for many families.

The initiative established a routine delivery of adult diapers for over 15 individuals with severe disabilities, ensuring their dignity and comfort. Additionally, food blenders were provided to carers of disabled persons who require pureed foods, easing the burden on these caregivers.

In the spirit of the season, ACT 4 Ukraine distributed over 200 Christmas shoe boxes, filled with gifts for babies, young people, adults, and seniors. These boxes, prepared by school pupils and other caring individuals, brought joy to those affected by the conflict.

The initiative consistently provided family hamper bags to hundreds of displaced families, particularly those in conflict zones. This year marked the tenth visit to impoverished elderly families in the Boyany area, highlighting the ongoing commitment to supporting the most vulnerable.

In response to frequent power cuts, ACT 4 Ukraine supplied LED lights to affected families, including one struggling to care for a disabled son in total darkness. Clothing and blankets were also distributed where needed.

ACT 4 Ukraine made significant contributions to the Chernivtsi Disability Center, a government organization supporting families with disabled young persons. The initiative provided 15-kg hampers to all 170 families under the center’s care. Additionally, bulk food donations, ranging from 500 to 2000 kg, were delivered to general hospitals, children’s hospitals, psychiatry hospitals, orphanages, and both women’s and men’s psychiatric boarding institutions.

Through these efforts, ACT 4 Ukraine has made a real difference, nurturing not only the bodies but also the spirits of those affected by the conflict.
