Construction of a cow shelter in Australia 2023

The Foundation undertook a significant project to construct a cow shelter and upgrade fencing at the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in Australia, advancing its mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for animals rescued from slaughter. The project aimed to ensure the well-being of these animals in line with wildlife guidelines.

A spacious shelter was constructed to house cows Nandini and Kamadhenu, offering ample space for movement, rest, and comfort. The shelter includes designated areas for feeding, bedding, and protection from the elements, with special attention given to its structural integrity to prevent any risk of injury to the animals.

In addition to the shelter, robust fencing was installed to meet the specific requirements for containing fallow deer. The fencing was made from durable, weather-resistant materials to ensure its longevity and effectiveness. Strategically placed, it provides the animals with ample space to roam, graze, and interact safely within the center’s grounds.

This project was made possible through the generous donations of MIF, demonstrating a strong community commitment to animal welfare and environmental harmony. Volunteers and staff at the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence Australia were instrumental in the project’s success, contributing their time and effort to bring it to fruition. The completion of the cow shelter and fencing project marks a significant step forward in providing a sanctuary for animals in need. With the support of MIF, the centre continues to uphold its values of compassion, care, non-violence, and respect for all living beings.
